Breakfast for dinner!

I made French Toast for dinner a while ago - another thing that I had to kindof convince the kids to eat since they were strickly "waffle" kids.  Anyway, Alleya DEVOURED what I put in front of her.  I wasn't even really expecting her to eat it; mostly I just wanted to keep her busy so that I could eat while the food was still hot :) !  As you know, both London and Davis have had their day as picky eaters so while this may be silly to most people, I was extremely proud of Alleya as she got the dirtiest any of my children have ever got while eating!!!!  London & Davis enjoyed their dinner too, eating the toast, bacon, oranges, and bananas!  After such a fun meal, I had no choice but to strip Alleya down and put her in the bath. ;)

Three Weeks Of Camping

We are home now from three weeks away at our trailer (with a few hotel stays interspersed in there as well)  I wanted to name this post "My Pinterest Summer" but, unfortunately, I didn't take enough pictures of all of the activities I did with the kids so it wouldn't have made too much sense to you all.

Anyway, as most of you know, Jason and I have parked out trailer on a lot in Boyle this summer.  I drove down with the kids on June 30 and Jason followed shortly after.  It's been interesting vacationing with a small baby and three kids total to boot.  However, we all had a great time and here are a "few" (ha ha) pictures to prove it!

Enjoying the playground where we have our trailer this year

Having fun at the laundromat - a great rainy day activity when you're camping!

London and I made this craft together
We had to make a quick trip to Calgary because, as it turns out, the "closest" US Consulate to where we are is there and Jason and I had to get some documents notarized by an American notary...... so off we went!  Of course, we couldn't go to Calgary without stopping at CrossIron Mills and the Bass Pro Shop!

London hugging an animal at the Bass Pro Shop
At the last minute, we decided to stop in Drumheller on our way back up to the trailer and take the kids to the Royal Tyrell Museum.  Unfortunately, Alleya decided that she had been in her car seat long enough...... London & Davis were pretty good natured about the noise!

At the Ramada in Drumheller.......
Sisters!

Nothing like staring into the sun to make a great picture......

or wearing a sun hat to cover your eyes......!

We signed the kids up for a Dinosaur Adventure Hour (I think was what it was called).  They got to learn a few fun facts about dinosaurs, make a craft (the fancy visors you'll see in the next few pictures) and "excavate" some dinosaur bones.

Here we are back at the trailer.  Our neighbours generously let London and Davis play in their sandbox even when they weren't there as well.  This is our friend Autumn in the pictures with Davis....... Davis LOVES Autumn :)

I was trying to get some good shots of the two of them on the swings without them noticing me.  (Obviously it didn't work out so well)

A few pictures of London playing on the deck and in the bouncy castle......

Jason loves this game - I forget what it's called.  We picked this one up at WalMart - only to find that it was missing some pieces to put the other "stand" thingy together..... boooo
That didn't matter to London & Davis; they had a great time playing (whatever this is) with Jason!

Back in the sandbox - I love these pictures of Davis!

There is a beach near where we were camping called Long Lake - it's a great beach and we had a lot of fun playing in the sand.  Honestly, Jason, London, and Davis, had a lot of fun..... I stayed in the shade with Alleya and tried to keep her comfortable and happy while they played.

I had to take this picture.  This is EXACTLY how London used to sleep!  (Davis liked to be swaddled and still wraps himself up in his blanket to sleep).

Jason and Davis playing trains on the deck.....

Jason bought some stuff that you throw in the fire and it's supposed to make the fire turn different colours...... I don't know exactly why he thought that this would be a good idea to do with small kids - London maybe..... Davis, not so much.......  Anyway, the kids thought it was very cool and we managed to do the whole thing without anyone sustaining any injuries so it all worked out!

They won't eat roasted marshmallows but enjoy them 'cold'!

from a photo booth at Galaxyland (at West Edmonton Mall) - another rainy day activity we enjoyed!

A shot of our trailer

London & Davis made and painted stepping stones.  Jason then took them to the hardware store to get some stuff to "make a garden" so they'd have somewhere to put their artwork.

These pictures are from our trip into Edmonton to the Telus World of Science.  Once again - we all had a great time!

Jason and I have had a lot of fun buying things for the trailer that we can't fit at home right now because we're in a townhouse.  Jason's got a shed behind the trailer to store things in, we've got a patio set for ourselves and one for the kids..... and we have this pool. Jason put the bucket  near the pool for the kids to rinse their feet in so they wouldn't track dirt and grass into the pool.  The water in the bucket warmed up much faster than the water in the pool - so that's where Davis decided to hang out!  (Crazy kid!)

Here are a few of our Pinterest inspired activities!

Home made lava lamps!

Blowing up a balloon with baking soda and vinegar!

You can't bring out the baking soda and vinegar without doing the old 'volcano' experiment.

Then we did an experiment using cornstarch and water.  If you stir it or tap it quickly - it becomes hard; but if you stir it or run your fingers through it slowly - it's liquid.

London and Davis making "yarn art"  (I came up with this all on my own thank you very much!)

And, of course, instead of dipping the yarn in glue - Davis slathered himself up to his elbows!

This is an old fire engine that is on display in Boyle

Jason is mocking London because she always poses with her arms in the air - it's cute on a 5 year old girl......... I'm not going to say anything more :)

And last but not least - Jason had to head back up to Fort McMurray to go back to work and I stayed a few extra days with the kids to go to the rodeo.  The weather was terrible but we still had fun.

And nothing says 'rodeo' like sparkly tattoos :)
