Davis

Just in case you think that I neglet my son because all I post is pictures of London, let me assure you that that is not the case. Jason pulled the exersaucer out of storage and gave it a good detailing so that Davis can now use it. Davis LOVES being upright and being able to look around and see what is going on.

He liked being in the bumbo seat as well, but he is so wiggly that I had to really watch him so that he didn't arch his way out of it. Obviously, I don't have to worry about that happening in the exersaucer.

My litte boy is growing so quickly. I can't believe that he is already 5 months old. He's teething like crazy; when I hold him my shoulder always ends up getting soaked from all of his drool, uggghh. Thankfully, so far teething hasn't made Davis too fussy or interrupted his sleeping like it did with London, so I guess all in all we're doing a-okay!

Geocaching

Jason has discovered (yet another) new hobby - geocaching. He has some pictures that I took on his phone that I hope he will upload to here soon, but for now, these are from an outing that London and Jason took together.

Jason took London out "treasure hunting" (geocaching) several times while he was home this past week. I wouldn't say that she loved the whole process since it sometimes took quite a while to find where the 'treasure' was burried or which tree it was hidden in; but she does seem to like.... hmmmmm, how shall I put it........ - junk...... (think High School Musical key chain), so the end result was pretty exciting for her.

The Backyardigans

I took London to see the Backyardigans in Surrey last Saturday. My mom watched Davis for me so we could have a 'girls' afternoon.

It was hard to take pictures because when I put the camera on the setting for low light the pictures were blurry 'cause those darn Backyardigans just don't stand still. And when I put the camera on the setting for action, the pictures were dark. I don't even know why I tried to take pictures except that it felt a little like peer pressure since all of the other parents had their cameras out so I figured that that's what I was supposed to do.

For those of you who are uneducated in all things Backyardigans, Pablo (the penguin) is on your left, and Tyrone (the moose?(an animal with antlers) is on your right.

The show lasted for an hour and a half and London LOVED it. She sat so well and didn't get fidgety or lose interest. The only part she didn't like was that she is not yet heavy enough to sit in theatre seats and the seat folded up on her and swallowed her whole, so she ended up sitting on my lap.

Of course, it was a gong show trying to get out of the parking lot when the show was over since we had gone to the first of three shows. So not only was everyone trying to leave at once, but new people were arriving and making mad dashes for the parking spots that we were vacating. While we were waiting to get out of the parking lot, London decided to have a melt down. And I do mean MELT D-O-W-N. I can only guess at the reason but she screamed and screamed and screamed some more. She screamed like I had invited Curious George (her FAVE) over for lunch and then chopped off his head in front of her. This is completely uncharted territory for me.

Anyway, as soon as I was able, I pulled over and took London out of her seat and we had a cuddle so that she could calm down and return to the land of unpossesed and happy children.

So, I guess, all in all I would classify the outing as a success, but hopefully we can skip the drama next time.

Our Morning At The Zoo

I took the kids to the zoo this past Friday. I know, I know, there are no pictures of Davis. In my defence, he was sleeping most of the time. It's hard to take pictures of your baby when you're the one holding him.

London was slightly interested in the animals; however, she mostly just enjoyed being able to run around in the sunshine. Her favorite part (as far as I could tell) was feeding the ducks her cherios in the new picnic area that they have set up. (Which, if you're going, was quite convenient for being able to feed Davis)

I have to point out a couple of things. In the first picture you will notice a rather gaudy piece of jewlery. I want you all to know that I am very proud of myself for letting London leave the house with this on. She wanted to look at my "treasures" (jewlery box) the other day while I was getting ready, and since it meant that I could put on my make up without having London paint her face as well, I let her. She found this "treasure", I really don't know why I haven't thrown it out. I'm pretty sure it's Bootlegger circa 1993? give or take a year. Nope, no Tiffany's in my jewlery box, just some old ugly heart on a rope from high school..........

Anyway, in the second picture, you can see London with her "fishing rod." Pretty much anything you can imagine gets turned into a fishing rod in our house. I can safely say that she learned about fishing rods from Jason. (By the way honey, where is London's fishing rod?) Probably deep in the depths of the garage which I am not willing to brave, even for the Princess fishing rod..... I digress.... You know when you buy new clothes and rip the tags off (cause who ever has scissors handy), the little plastic piece that holds the tags on the clothes - that's a fishing rod, in our house. I could give you more examples but I think you get the picture - London likes to fish.

The last picture is of the ducks ignoring London as she "fishes" through the fence. All in all, it was fun to get out of the house and enjoye the sunshine with the kids. I'm trying to enjoy these things while the kids are still 'free'.

I better run - only one more sleep until Jason comes home!

Davis's Photo Shoot

As many of you know, I have a blog for my stamping and crafting stuff but don't often share too much of our family life on there. I'm not really comfortable putting our pictures and lives out on the internet for just anybody to see. So I've started a 'family' blog to keep all of our friends and family 'up to date' with what's new with us!
Here are a few of the pictures that mom took for us after Davis came home from the hospital. He is just under 2 weeks old in these pictures. As I write this, he is fighting his nap (he probably needs to burp) so I must keep this short. I will try to post regularly so come back and visit often!
