These Are The Things I Need To Write Down

Hi Everyone!

I don't have any pictures to post today as I'm lazy and haven't downloaded them off of my camera yet. However, I do have a story.

Last Friday night was one of my stamp club meetings. The club begins at 7 so I usually have the kids in bed just before that. As I was tucking in London, she asked to have some socks for her hands. Now this is a new request for her; however, quirky requests in general are not. Right now, London MUST have a pillow for her feet as well as for her head to sleep on. (Imagine me shrugging my shoulders and rolling my eyes right now) Whatever, as long as my kids are in bed by 6:59 and by 7:00 I'm doing whatever it is I need/want to be doing, I really don't care where you put your pillow.

Anyhow, back to Friday night. As you may guess, I let London put socks on her hands and said goodnight. It was about 11pm by the time I went to bed and when I checked in on the kids, London was still wearing the socks on her hands! I thought for sure that she would have pulled them off about 10 seconds after I left the room. I contemplated leaving them on but thought that she would get way too hot so I tugged them off (without waking London) and went to bed.

Exactly 10 minutes later a certain precious little girl came padding into my room wanting the socks put back on her hands...... REALLY?...... Again, I say "Whatever," just do what you need to do so that we can both go to bed now.

I know that you are chuckling right now and think that this is the end of a slightly cute but mostly pointless story - but wait - it does not end here.

At 2:30 AM a certain (not quite as precious at this point) little girl came padding back into my room, again wanting the socks on her hands. I guess she actually had removed them herself this time. Before I continue, I do have to say that in my defense I am usually quite patient when I am woken up in the middle of the night. However, on this particular instance, all my poor little half asleep 3 year old got was, "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WAKE MOMMY UP TO PUT SOCKS ON YOUR HANDS! Go Back To Bed!"

Now that is pretty much the end of the story. There's no really funny or quirky ending. I will report that London has not since asked for socks on her hands - thank goodness.
