London's 4th Birthday Party

The princess cake - yes I purchased it.  I figured it was one thing I wasn't going to worry about doing myself since London doesn't even eat cake.  She was very excited about having a princess cake and blowing out the candles - but very specific that she "did not want to eat any cake".

I'm going to try and crop another picture to get a close up of the buckets.  I made 26 paper gerbera daisies (and yes, they were time consuming) 8 magic wands to use for these arrangements.  Each girl got to take home a bucket as part of their party favour.

A shot of the paper butterflies, tissue paper flowers, and our Littlest Pet Shop play area.

London wanted to put her 'crown' candles on the cake herself

The food tables!  You can't see it in this shot, but I had a little candy bar (which as you can tell, I thought was a very cool idea :)

I think Davis was getting away from some of the Princess action at this point

Davis picked up London's drink and spilled it down the front of himself, so the quickest option for me was to just take off his shirt.  (Nana put a new shirt on him a bit later)  He was all over the craft table, specifically the glue sticks - we had to keep an eye out though because he can take the lids off and then likes to EAT the glue - not very 'princely' Davis!

Hello Everyone!  I know that it's been AGES since I last posted, but in all fairness (to me) it's been a CRAZY couple of months.  This is a little out of order since I haven't posted any Christmas pictures yet; but I'm not taking responsibility for that one since our fabulous family photographer hasn't sent me those pictures yet:)
I can hardly complain though, look at these great pictures!

I was VERY exited about London's birthday party this year.  In the past, we've invited all of our friends and ALL of their kids to celebrate London's birthday.  Not that we don't like our friends or their kids, but not very many of the kids are acutally girls London's age.  Most are boys that are older than her - not many similar interests is what I'm trying to get at.  So this year, I decided that this would be our first 'girl' party, and invite London's friends this time.  We had 5 three and four year old girls, plus London's girl cousins over, and we had SO MUCH FUN!

As you can see, I may have gone a little crazy with the decorations, but they were beautiful (if I do say so myself) and very befitting a princess and her princess friends.  We gave the girls princess costumes to dress up in (which then doubled as their party favours)  The girls decorated picture frames and mom took pictures of them all dressed up to put in their frames.  I also had an area set up where they could make paper dolls (one of London's most requested craft activities)

Davis had a lot of fun being the 'prince' and made friends with all of the moms, taking advantage of any pair of arms willing to pick him up!  This is a HUGE turnaround for him, since previously, anyone even daring to glance in his direction would set of a crying fit - we're thankful that stage is over :)

While I'm thankful that the party was a success, I'm a little sad thinking of all of the hours I spent making decorating and setting up (then the clean up afterwards) - all for a 2 hour party.  On the other hand, I was pretty exhausted and happy for it to be over as well - so it's all good!

London has a few little quirks that apparantly are age related.  You know when you're in agreement with someone and you say, "me too".  Well, London uses it in the right context; however, last year she started saying "me three"!  As of her birthday this year, she now says, "me four"...... too funny :)  Also, she has graduated herself from using 3 squares of toilet paper to four squares now.  I hope that we live near a Costco by the time she hits her teens or this trend of hers could get a little pricey :)

Okay, that's all for now - the prince and princess have turned into natives and they're getting restless!  (How un-politically correct, please forgive me:)  But you get the picture - I NEED TO RUN!
