London helping Nana make dinner! |
Hello Friends & Family!!!
As you've probably already heard - we welcomed our newest addition to the Munro family this past Saturday March 10!
I was induced on my due date at about 9:30am - contractions started about an hour later but nothing too serious. By 3:30 there still wasn't too much happening and I was a little frustrated since both London and Davis were 'quick' labour and deliveries. At 3:30 my water broke on it's own and the contractions started coming more frequently and I had asked for some medication to help manage the pain. I was given morphine since it's supposed to be longer lasting and I was still so 'far' from delivering. Honestly, I've never had morphine before, but I don't feel like it helped AT. ALL. To make a not so long story, even shorter - Alleya was born at 4:20pm. I was on my way to the bathroom when a contraction stopped me in my tracks - luckily my nurse happened to check in on me at that moment and rushed me back to the bed while physically holding her hands to catch the baby because I was pushing. Alleya came out with one push - the doctor made it in time to deliver the placenta ;)
The kids were a little afraid of the baby at first because she was crying loudly and causing quite a commotion when they came to the hospital to visit. Honestly, I think the poor child was just a little stressed out from her quick arrival. They've warmed up to her now - even Davis held Alleya for a little bit today; we're all enjoying being home together!
